Funny Story
So this happened a couple of weeks ago, but we are not very good bloggers so I will tell you the story now. So I went to the Boise area to do some job searching before we move out there. I figure it would be good to have something lined up before hand so I don't have to balance job searching and school when I first get there. Anyway, I had a fairly successful trip. I actually got some calls from places I applied and got some interviews so I am excited for that. ok so on to the story, I was on my way home from Boise and I got stuck behind an 18 wheeler that was kicking up a bunch of muddy water from the highway. So I go to spray my windshield off and low and behold I have nothing. This came as a surprise to me because I filled it up about a week prior and the windshield wiper fluid container under my hood takes almost a whole bottle to top off. Instantly though my thoughts turn to my wife. Who I assumed (and then later proved) that she instead of scraping off the windows before going to class had decided to bathe the windshield in it each morning before she went to class. It just made me laugh because I know my wife well enough to know exactly why I was out of wiper fluid.

Why married people shouldn't hang out with single people
Ok. I have to admit. I used to be one of those people who when they were single said that they wouldn't drop off the grid just because I got married. I would like to say that Amy and I both have done a very good job at still being social and having friends since we have been married. But this weekend Amy left to Utah to go to the Woman's Conference with her mom. So I was home alone all weekend. Which I usually don't mind the time alone, the savor of Playstation isn't so sweet after 2 or 3 hours. So I called pretty much my only single friend left in Rexburg, Adam, to see what he was up too. He was having a "Mocktail" party at his apartment. It's pretty much where people get together all dressed up and drink virgin drinks and listen to Frank Sinatra. I have never heard of this before so I decided to go. Adam was reluctant to have me there just because he thinks I would get bored being the only married person there. FYI Adam also sometimes treats me like I have some rare disease just cuz I'm married. That aside, I was optimistic I could have fun, and I needed the social interaction very badly.
So I go to the party and I have an Italian soda which wasn't too bad. And sat and started to socialize. It was good for the first 5 minutes then as people started finding out I was married less and less people were talking to me. Eventually I was just kinda stuck sitting along the wall in the back of the living room. Now, I don't want anyone to feel bad for me because I came up with some good observations and was thoroughly entertained.
As I sat there in my little spot I was just observing the interactions of the single males and females. And seriously it was like watching an interesting documentary on "Animal Planet". All the men were trying to tell more interesting stories and jokes than the others, getting louder and louder, just to get attention. Almost like gorillas trying to get the attention of a mate. Some men brought guitars and were wooing women with there beautiful music (not unlike emperor penguins). Some of the women were flaunting there various bright colored dresses and trying to put themselves on display like tropical birds. They honestly should have called it the "Galapagos party".
Anyway all these interesting observations aside. I am very glad to be happily married for 2 years to my beautiful wife. I am especially glad I am out of the dating jungle that all those poor individuals were trapped in at the party. But I have learned a lesson. Next time I am invited to a party that will be swarming with single people, I think I will just stay home and watch Animal Planet. Just because I can stay in my PJ's and it will be basically the same experience.

My Job...
So, my Boss called me last week asking me if I could cover a client for a couple of days. I said sure and she told me that she would call me later in the week to let me know the details about the client.
She never called me.
So I called my boss to remind her I needed to know about the client.
She lets me know that she is sorry she forgot to call and that i actually don't have to cover the shifts anymore cause the lady passed away.
hmm... i got the day off because someone passed away?
Only at my job!!!

To Boise, Then To Utah, And Back....
This last week we took a little tour across Idaho, down to Utah, and little in between, and then back up to Idaho. Our reasons for this excursion is a long story.
sit tight and I will fill you in. ( I'll try and make it short, but no promises,I'm a girl and I like to talk )
After this fall semester I will be done with all my "coursework" and with all that done, the only thing i will have left until graduation will be my STUDENT TEACHING. Basically its a big deal. I've been pretty nervous about it since day one (day one being when I asked some random person "whats this Ed-492 class that's 12 credits?" and I found out)
Well since student teaching is such a big deal, there is also a big application and placement process. the school can only place you in certain areas and staying locally (rexburg area-ish) to student teach is virtually impossible. there is big "petition process" and if they think that your reason are good enough, you'll get to stay. needless to stay my "petition" didn't make the cut. I kind of had a gut feeling from the start it wouldn't though.
The day that we got the news that I wasn't accepted to stay locally we also found out where I had been placed and that byu-Idaho was opening up another distant location. emotions mixed i kinda wrote the whole thing off.
As time went by we were getting really anxious because we realized what a big decision this all was going to be. the more time that went by the more i realized how many other decision and factors relied on this one. how were we going to figure it all out? with my placement where it was, the new location and the option to stay in rexburg anyway and or petition their decision on my petition, our options were endless. (nerve-wracking)
We sat down one night with a poster, wrote every option we had and then pro's and con's for each option. it was a serious deal, but amazingly it was like the missing pieces just fell into place and we both knew, where we were going. (sounds magically doesn't it?)
So for those of you who don't know Jon and I decided to move to Boise this coming December, This means packing and leaving never to see rexburg again. (insert yelp of excitement and nervousness) our little excursion was so Jon could check out Boise State, and some Utah schools (which we didn't even look at because we already knew where we needed to go.)
Now that you know why we took our trip, i can tell you a little bit more about it... we left Thursday afternoon and we went the "arco" way to Boise, its scenic and beautiful and it makes me love this pretty earth i live on. on the drive over we got a little antsy and board. we randomly found a good radio station that was playing some Tunes though and this is what happened:
Jon singing.... wait for the good part, you'll know what I'm talking about when you see it.

Jon and I both, Jon is the "silly" voice (not me!!) the camera falls off the dashboard at the end

Jon and I take two

These are examples of the pretty scenery we saw on our way to boise:

This is Jon "taking a picture with his mind"

And me, being a pretzel walrus

We spent Thursday night at Ed and Carols hanging out with Kira and Jordan. Then on Friday we took an official tour of Boise state. Friday night we went out to Brent and Nat's and had a fun time with the nieces (and Brent and Nat too of course)! we had pizza, and watched the Hannah Montana movie, it was perfect Friday night! Saturday Nat and i went Yard Sale-ing and made out like bandits, it was fun! we went out to Dean and Ann's for a little get together that night and Jordan and Kira talked us into staying another night. So we did.
After Church on Sunday we drove down to Utah. Jon wasn't feeling well so we took turns driving and he slept most of the way (poor guy). I spent time with my family that night, Ty and Leah Came over and brought some amazing dessert! and Jon continued to sleep the night away. Monday we basically hung out and slept in. Jon slept mostly all day Monday and on Tuesday and well. I've never known him to go to bed three days in a row at like 9 o'clock. it was strange. thankfully he is starting to feel better.
And last but certainly not least, some guy taking off into space in his Geo:
